Zack lost his faith in the Confluence not long after his girlfriend, Amelia, was killed after falling ill with a "disease only caught by Heretics" The Confluence preaches that TRUE followers of the Confluence are immune to the disease, but Zack knows thats just a lie to keep the people in order. He must now face the inevtible that as his infection becomes more visible, he will suffer the same fate as Amelia.
Amelia died to ROT not long before Zack started showing signs of infection. The Rot that infests Zack imitates and distorts her within his mind.
Nicknamed Babyface, Patick, while an extremely skilled hunter/tracker, lacks common sense and intelligence. He is extremely loyal to the Confluence and bares little to no empathy or despair, making him less prone to catching ROT.
While still completely unhinged, Gerrad tends to be slightly more polite and logical than his brother, Babyface. Gerrad has a scar in the shape of the Confluence's cross embedded in his forehead
